Alicia Vikander's Elegant, Timeless and Undeniable Style

A look into the key traits and standout pieces in the wardrobe of Louis Vuitton's muse

Alicia Vikander's style is underrated. She has a classic, elegant sense of style and always wears pieces that are well suited to her slender figure. Monochrome, bandeau and high-neck dresses, cut-outs, ruffles and frills, blush pink, leather, embroidery, detailed prints and #metallic materials make repeat appearances in her wardrobe. Whilst she regularly opts for reliable black or white pieces, fun pops of colour and striking metallic gowns also feature amongst her looks.

With the Swedish actress having such a sophisticated sense of style, it's hardly surprising that she has a strong relationship with Louis Vuitton. She has been an ambassador for the brand since 2015 and has repeatedly worn custom Louis Vuitton gowns to red carpet events. Throughout Vikander's collaboration with Vuitton, her relationship with the women's creative director of the brand, Nicolas Ghesquière, has evolved and strengthened from a purely creative partnership to a friendship. She clearly has a great amount of respect for the designer and his vision. Interestingly, she has referred to the fact that Ghesquière honours past fashions, “The thing with Nicolas is that his own style is very much looking back and honouring classic fashions or styles, honouring those materials and craftsmanship and bringing it out and mixing it up to become something almost ahead of its time,” (wwd.com, 2022) Ghesquière's appreciation of classic style and glamour teamed with Vikander's inherent sophistication make for a match made in heaven.

In terms of professional styling, Vikander has been working with, the former model turned editorial stylist, Victoria Sekrier since around 2015. When defining the star's general style, Sekrier has described it as "very European, which is timeless, effortless and understated". (nytimes.com, 2015) Sekrier has also pointed out a bohemian facet of Vikander's style that manifests in her wardrobe choices more significantly in the warmer months. (nytimes.com, 2015) While drawing from classic style, there is still a certain eclecticism to Vikander's fashion choices. Below are my favourite looks worn by the Oscar winning actress:

The Best Summer 2023 Jewellery Buys

Ocean conservation, recycled materials and dreams of palm trees

Beautiful jewellery really uplifts my mood and boosts my confidence. It's something that you can potentially treasure forever, wear frequently and use to elevate a simple outfit. It's a challenge to think of other material objects that hold as much sentimental value. Jewellery can be a reminder of a memory, place or person who you love. With these thoughts in mind, I've chosen pieces that represent one of the happiest times of the year, the summer.

With 'The Little Mermaid' now in cinemas, and the current #mermaidcore trend, it seems like there's more ocean themed jewellery available than ever before. Wearing ocean themed jewellery can feel really uplifting and freeing. If you work in a hectic environment or in a concrete jungle it can be a reminder of relaxing shores. As someone who grew up in England, another of my favourite summer symbols is the palm tree as they seem exciting and exotic to me. They remind me of childhood trips to Spain and Florida.

Whilst the uplifting qualities of jewellery can feel like a form of escapism, choosing jewellery comes with more serious considerations too. Many jewellery creators now take advantage of modern, thoughtful methods and use recycled materials. It can also feel very rewarding to choose options by companies who support ocean conservation and wildlife. Certain human behaviours including offshore oil drilling and the use of plastics are very damaging to sea life. Below, my selection includes a number of considerate summer 2023 jewellery options and a wide range of prices:

My Summer 2023 Fashion Wish List

23 standout summer clothes and accessories that I'm yearning for right now

As a regular admirer of fashion sites, many pieces make it onto my wish lists. I thought it would be fun to compile a selection of items, including high fashion, that I would love to have in my summer '23 wardrobe. As I love coloured clothing, for this summer, I really like the idea of combining vibrant colours with white or metallic accessories. White is a brighter summer option than black or brown and I love the idea of having accessories that pair beautifully with most outfits. I've managed to keep to 23 items even though, as a lover of fashion, my summer 2023 wish list could be never ending.
